Art without supplies

​If you don't have art supplies available, you can still make art! Create an artwork inspired by a prompt below. Or make art using your own idea!

Share your artwork by taking a photo and submitting it here.

Land Art

  1. Go somewhere and open your eyes.

  2. Look at what is there. See the colors, shapes, and forms.

  3. Select materials that appeal to you because of their shape, color, or size.

  4. Collect as many as you can.

  5. Make a pattern, swirl, circle, spiral or picture with what you have found.

Remember to practice safe social distancing by only exploring local areas

and keeping a minimum of 6 feet between you and others.

Shadow Art

  1. Collect objects and supplies (these can be natural objects or recycled objects)

  2. Build a form by stacking your objects.

  3. Check its shadow by shining a flash light on it.

  4. Add more objects to your your form to create even more complex shadow art!

Found Object Art

  1. Collect objects and supplies (these can be natural, recycled, or household objects)

  2. Build a flat picture by arranging your objects.

  3. Check your picture by looking at it from above.

  4. Add more objects to your your form to create even more complex found object art!

  5. Take a picture to save your found object artwork! Share it with others!

Found Object Color Wheels & Value Scales

  1. Collect objects and supplies (these can be natural objects or recycled objects)

  2. Build a color wheel by arranging your objects by color in a circle.
    Or, build a value scale by arranging your objects by value in a straight line.

  3. Take a picture to save your artwork! Share it with others!
